Thanks! > As I have been increasing my Armour and IsoCort, I experienced the same thing: Tightness in the chest and gasping for air often (breathless). Now that I am getting much closer to my optimal dose, that has gone away. Basically, I just stopped working out and got lots of rest while I had these symptoms. (The less stress on your body the better.) I would say they lasted a couple of weeks and now that my adrenal are getting more hormones to my cells, my breathing is normal again and I haven't had the chest pain. It was scary because I wasn't sure why I had it. All I can say is check with your doctor, but I would recommend SLOWLY increasing your dose of both Armour and HC (cut the pills if you have to) and lots of rest. I also started taking a B-complex vitamin and upped my magnesium. I already take Vitamin C. Good luck Debbie
Guest guest
Yes, I had this. Could not take Armour because of it. I have since found I am low in ferritin and estrogen, both of which will make one intolerant of thyroid meds. > > Does anyone have this problem? I desperately need adrenal and thyroid support. Guest guest
Hi , I've just moved, and my labs are boxed somewhere, but I'll post them as soon as I can find them. I do remember, though, that when my ferritin was tested years ago, it was about 25, and I took chelated iron until it was 49! Not one of my high priced doctors in the past 3 years has mentioned that I should check it again, and I'm sure it's very low. What's the best iron to take? What's the best book to read on thyroid and adrenals? I thought I could hire doctors to think it through for me! What a joke... Guest guest
I do not think there is a best book to read. Each one has things to offer btu I jhave yet to find ONE that has the whoel story. I loved Peatfield's Your Thyroid and How to Keep it Healthy, and Jefferies Safe Uses of Cortisol adn Mark Starr's Hypothyroidism Type 2.. I think all are great reading. One of the best books to understand cortiosl and it's use is by a veterinarian! Alfred Plechner's Pets At Risk, which you can probably find on Ebay for under $10! It was the one that made up my mind to try HC the first time. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Air hunger is the best description that I have heard for it and I have it when I am feeling particularly hypo like I am today. > > As I have been increasing my Armour and IsoCort, I experienced the > same thing: Tightness in the chest and gasping for air often > (breathless). Guest guest
Reading the Starr book now and it's pretty good. Read Blanchard's book and I have Peatfield's book in the wings. 's book on Adrenals was OK - not great. I'm giving a copy of the Starr book to my DO b/c he seems to be open-minded. -- In NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS , wrote: > > I do not think there is a best book to read. Guest guest
Well, I just got back from visitng in Wisconsin, where I had both a nasty asthma attack and also experienced some air hunger. It was pretty awful. I am feeling better now, but think I will call in sick tomorrow morning to give my body a day to recuperate. The air hunger coupled with the asthma attack was pretty ghastly, but I survived to tell the tale and learned a good lesson from it - always be prepared! Story of my life. C.
