Guest guest
I was also told by the doc I worked for years ago - that if you must.......take another reading that you must wait 5 min.'s that of course was for a non-digital. My questions is: how exactly to you do this, mine is also a digital. Ie sitting, then take the cuff off, so pressure on the arm is completely released - right??? But my really big questions is: do you put the cuff on, stand up and inflate it and take your pressure.........or do you inflate an then stand up and start releasing??? This has always been a very confusing test whenever anyone mentions it. SeaLady
Guest guest
Sol, wouldn't you get a very inaccurate reading as in not just the numbers, but since your arm is still constricted, just a totally inaccurate reading??? Try doing it a 2nd time, but don't stand and see what you get. SeaLady I just use my digital as usual while sitting. Then turn it off and back on, get it ready to take the reading when I stand up, then stand and push the button immediately. I am not certain all the fine details matter, nor the exact readings. I did have one day when BP did rise upon standing, (at least 3 checks over the course of the day) but the next day they went right back to falling on standing. So I do think my unit can detect rise/fall on standing, even if the numbers aren't perfectly accurate. Sol
