Guest guest
I think it depends on how long you have been at stage 7. I was at this stage for a few years and could do a tremendous amount because I still had adrenaline I was living off of it, but then I couldn't even seem to get adrenaline and just completely crashed in all regards a few years ago. I think she said she was at stage 7 for 2 years which may be why she still can do stuff...adrenaline is helping. Though that means she will get worse if it is not properly treated. I'm stage 7, and if I get the animals fed, litterboxes changed, get to the grocery store, or cook dinner, or do one load of laundry or a little vacuuming, that is my day, and I certainly usually cannot do all of those in one day. I can't walk 15 minutes, or I'd be back to using my canes for a few days (done it, in fact). sol .
Guest guest
I wonder how long the adrenaline phase can last---certainly I lived on adrenaline for years and years. But by the time I came here to this list, I'd been ill for a decade, severely ill for 5 years or so. So my adrenaline years are at least 10 years behind me. sol MsSquarepants wrote: > I think it depends on how long you have been at stage 7. Guest guest
Well, I think I was at it for seven years at least with stage 7 but pumping out adrenaline based on my symptoms and had adrenal fatigue at least 30 years if not my entire life. I know by puberty I had the symptoms that I know understand to be adrenal fatigue. I knew I could not even get my adrenaline up anymore when I actually had a life threatening crime committed against me and didn't have the adrenaline to react appropriately and was actually so calm I was almost sedate. Luckily, I got out of the situation safely but it was the complete opposite of how I should have functioned and normally the smallest noise or just about anything made me nervous, anxious, jittery, etc. Then I went to almost comatose, lol. Yeah, it would be interesting to know what other people's stories are in this regard. Guest guest
Yes, sleep is wonderful if you can get it. My body never lets me get more than 4-6 hours though. Once I wake up, I can lie in bed but will not fall asleep again. Cheri Re: irritable on cortisol...stage 7 I am thinking this is another way of saying HPA axis over stimulation.I had lived with it since before my CFS was apparent. I am thinking CFs starting point is taken as the point where immune system problems start. I am thinking person must have lived with high cortisol(also high adrenaline ) for some time (for me at least 8 years) to reach to the point where immune system is depressed and not functioning well. I am in stage 7. I lived with this adrenaline rush for at least 25 years but I still have it from time to time as soon as I am able to get some rest. That is why I am looking for an adaptogenic herb to control this problem.I am thinking even though I take hc,due to disrupted hpa axis functioning I am spending it all and still need more. That is why I still could not decide if hpa axis dysfunction of adrenal fatigue and CFS are same. I had a friend who had a very stressful life and developed adrenal fatigue. After the stressful events ended she was bed ridden like me. But she recovered without taking any support. You know why? She slept.. She slept and rested most of the time and she recovered within three years. I had another friend who had secondary adrenal insufficiency due to extreme cortisol taken after a brain surgery. She also recovered by resting. Problem with me is that I can not rest even if I am tired. My brain keeps pushing me. I don't seem to feel my body's (adrenals) exhaustion. It feels as if connection is broken.Does that sound similar to anyone? best wishes. Nil/7 .
Guest guest
I notice when I take afternoon naps, it makes me feel worse almost, like really hard to get up and sluggish feelings for hours. I sleep about 8 hours a night, and feel ok, until my afternoon low. Other than that, sleep is good. Thats amazing that someone with secondary adrenal insufficiency recovered from only sleep and rest. I thought that with Secondary AF, you had to take HC for life??? Im confused... WIth stage 7, are you always completly bedridden?? Does that mean that you have addisons? I've been spending all this time trying to findo ut if its my pituitary because I had RAI, and maybe all I need is to hope and pray and rest. My next saliva test will show if Im getting worse or better. > I am thinking this is another way of saying HPA axis over stimulation.I > had lived with it since before my CFS was apparent. Guest guest
The testings for all this the proper way is so dang expensive, its easy to loose hope on things. Thanks though...I've read so many things, its hard to keep certain info straight.
Guest guest
I was slowly headed that way over the past few years - probably because of increasingly being hypoT. Starting on the Isocort got me all the way there in a hurry and it continues with HC. So want to sleep for 8 or 9 hours tonight but I know that I won't be able to. > > Yes, sleep is wonderful if you can get it. My body never lets me get more > than 4-6 hours though. Guest guest
yes, it sounds like me. I haave not taken a nap for about l0 years. I have no trouble getting up - can't really stay in bed once I'm awake, have plenty of energy to do whatever, and sometimes have to doomething to keep moving. The Isocort has helped the hyperactivity a lot. In spite of all the energy, I fall asleep in my chair while reading. aggravating., but I am improving week by week on the Isocort. Guest guest
I notice when I take afternoon naps, I wished I could have afternoon naps. it makes me feel worse almost, like really hard to get up and sluggish feelings for hours. it could be that your body is relaxing and starting to feel how much rest it needs. I think that is good. I sleep about 8 hours a night, and feel ok, until my afternoon low. Other than that, sleep is good. Thats amazing that someone with secondary adrenal insufficiency recovered from only sleep and rest. I thought that with Secondary AF, you had to take HC for life??? Im confused... all I know is that she developed adrenal insufficiency due to excessive cortisone usage. I think this is one type of secondary insuff. WIth stage 7, are you always completely bedridden?? yes. I am bedridden without cortisone support. with 20 mg hc eq. of isocort I was about 20-30 percent functional. I am now increasing the dosage. oes that mean that you have addisons? oh.. yes... that is what I am wondering lately.it could be that I am at addisonian level. but can not check it at this point. I've been spending all this time trying to findo ut if its my pituitary because I had RAI, and maybe all I need is to hope and pray and rest. My next saliva test will show if Im getting worse or better. hope you will son get better. bw nil/
