Guest guest
Thanks, Cherie. So the Solgar brand does not constipate? I have to watch for that since I battle that and the slightest things can throw my digestive system off. Thanks, Cheri RE: Iron supplements (was wired but tired - ? for ) The one I used from Wal-mart was Spring Valley. There isn't a health food store very close to me, so I just bought it there. They quit carrying it so I had to drive to a health food store. The brand I got there is Solgar. I've tried regular iron supplements and they kill my stomach. I know it constipates most people, but I can barely leave the bathroom for about 6 hours if I take regular iron. I know that is probably TMI, but that is how my system works. :-) Cherie
Guest guest
Well, I have the opposite problem with iron. Probably because of my Chron's disease and missing 2 feet of my small intestine. However, this is what it says on the bottle: <snip>Manufacturer's Description: SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS • SUGAR, SALT AND STARCH FREE. A unique form of chelated iron (iron bisglycinate) formulated for maximum absorption without gastrointestinal irritation or the constipating effects that often accompany iron supplementation. <snip> I haven't had any problems with it upseting my stomach at all. So it might be worth a try if you need an iron supplement. I was also told to cook things in an iron skillet and the food would absorb a bit of iron from that. :-) Cherie > > Thanks, Cherie. > So the Solgar brand does not constipate?
