Guest guest
Evan, Before you take the hydrocortisone that you ordered, start to slowly cut back on Amour for 2 reasons: 1) Amour is probably pooled in your blood as you did not have the cortisol to convert it and when you begin your HC treatement you will be more sick with a " thyroid storm " because the thyroid in your blood is able to process on HC--all at once. Some people completely go off Amour before starting HC. You will have to dose extremely carefully and slowly when you add HC. 2) It is easier for your adrenals not to deal with the stimulation from the Amour, and you are stressing them out as you increase your Amour. Next. ORDER A TEST FROM THE CANNARY CLUB ONLINE. The link is in the files section. It helps to know exactly were you are with the adrenal fatigue before you treat it. This will also be helpful if you find a dr. to help you out. In the files section is a list of recommended supplements such as 3-6000 vit C, sea salt, iorn etc. Those supplements are really needed to nurse those little adrenals back. Another way to find a dr. to help you out is to call ND's and find out if they treat adrenal fatigue, and how do they treat adrenal fatigue. Natropaths are a bit more informed of the issue--always do a phone interview first. Do you have family or friends you can depend on emotionally and/or financially....this is a long process of triumpths and setbacks. Remind your loving father that if someone cut your adrenal glands out of your body--you would die in 2 weeks. Also, maybe get your dr. to order the test so insurance will pay? The doctor I got in touch with in Michigan said > my vitamin D was low and that simply my wake sleep cycle was > disturbed > -I think your dr. might be going about this the wrong/long way. Cortisol/adrenal glands control your wake and sleep cycle. When people have the right cortisol rhythm, they wake and sleep just fine. Not being able to do your regular physical activity is not " still strong enough to recover on their own " . My mother got the same BS answer from her doc and I explained to her that she was one crisis away from the hospital where she would likely die before they figured out she needed cortisol. I forgot to mention that I was on accutane for 2 years from 16-18. Yes my skin cleared up and looked beautiful--BUT--when I began cortisol replacement in October 07, my skin cleared up. I've been acne/blemish/pimple prone for years, I was sufering from obvious hormone imbalances all this time.... > but i dont think he > fully realizes how shot my adrenals truely are. I mean he made it > seem like i would be better in no time when i usually hear from > people like you and others it takes a very very long time to recover > from this so i dunno. im just sort of lost. > Yep, you're right about your doc not fully understanding. The only way I got my doc to understand is a made a 3 page list of my adrenal related symptoms and gave it to him for my appointment (glad to email it to you if you want an idea). When my doc gave me HC, he didn't order a saliva test first--I truly regret that move but I was not functional at that time and desperate. My doc thought " 2 months on this and you should be feeling gguurrraatttee! " I think if I just had adrenal issues, I would be feeling great. But I have thyroid complications which means my whole hormonal system is out of wack and it is difficult to balance 2 major endocrine glands at the same time. Thats why it takes longer. As for $$ support and emotional support, I have my parents, a great life coach, a super mentor/therapist and the people around me have some level of understanding. Which is great--one less battle. Last week I decided to stop grad. school for now and move back home where I can restore some functional balance to my body (and find a better grad school), and save $$ while getting better. It takes about 6months to straighten out the thyroid system if there are no complications....but adrenals are a complication and I assume this is going to take about a year (or more) for me. Oh, and don't drink right now, the body can't deal with that kind of " stress " . Tasia
Guest guest
Sorry to jump in, but can you email me a copy of your adrenal symptoms that you took to your doc. That sounds like a great idea to get them to listen. thanks katie thyroidsupport@... > > > > > > Taisa thanks for the reply and yes I plan on cutting back on the > > armour while I go on the HC.
