The kind men use to keep their toupes on. Other parents of little ones have spoken highly of it. Plus there are other hats and things that have worked, but I'm not the one to give this advice. I didn't have a little one with aids. We learned of Ian's loss when he was about 7. He was so thrilled to get his aids that our problem was getting him to take them out, not how to keep them in. Guest guest
HI - I remember a thread quite awhile back where they talked about hearing aids for American Girl dolls. Of course I can't remember all the details (especially since I'm the only girl in the house!), but it seems like it was on Listen-up? Kay, if you're reading this, I know you'll remember! It seemed cool if you had a daughter with that doll. Barbara Gray wrote: >HI! I thought of an idea to keep the earmolds in. If the kids have a favorite stuffed animal you can get creative and make hearing aids for them. We have done this for my sons little stuffed puppy. He thinks it's great that his puppy is the same as him. Somtimes it's a struggle to get them in first thing in the morning so I wait until after he eats. Jakob just got new earmolds so they fit tighter and he is constantly touching his ears molds. > > >Edith Tarter wrote: >, >Thanks for the tip. We are going through EI for hearing aids, so good to know I can use them for related supplies. I'm sure we will have a need for the toupee tape, but even more basic is getting kids to keep the ear mold in the ear. Super glue??? Just kidding...I know in my head it just takes time and a zillion attempts to get the girls to keep them in, but we are only on 1001 tries so far! We'll keep at it, though. >Edith > > -- **************** Barbara Mellert Manager, Social Science Computing Kiewit Computing Services Dartmouth College 13A Silsby Hall, HB 6121 Hanover NH 03755 Telephone: 603/646-2877 URL: http://www.dartmouth.edu/~ssc
Guest guest
Great idea on the pretend aids for toys. Maybe I need to make one for my son, as he feels left out when the girls get to wear their 'earrings'! Thanks. Guest guest
I ordered a set of hearing aids for a doll from www.lakeshorelearning.com when le was a baby and we battled with keeping her hearing aids in. They were made for the doll they sell, but we were able to use Velcro on them and attach them to her doll. We ordered glasses for her doll too, since that was another battle we had. Every morning we would put the doll's hearing aids on first, then put le's in. At night we would remove the doll's aids and put them in the box and then le's aids. Hope this helps. Take Care Colleen Mom to 10 hearing asthma and allergies Mom to le 6 mod. to sev. hearing loss, etc. etc. Re: Toupe tape advice needed (formerly: new member intro) HI - I remember a thread quite awhile back where they talked about hearing aids for American Girl dolls.
