Guest guest
Hi All: Well it's all over and even though was extremely nervous, he did so well. They arrived at 10:00AM sharp, camera man, sound man, assistant producer and the producer. They spent the first hour setting up, getting the background just so, like the American flag, plants books, just like when the President speaks, and you see that nice background. Then they sat down, and made sure the lighting was correct and he had to sit upright in his chair and they started asking question's all about the landing on Omaha Beach, and what part religion played in his survival. The interview lasted about and hour and a half, then they took picture's of him doing his job here in our building. Then we went to the town square, and we spent over an hour there (this is where I came into the picture). In the middle of the square (named Monument Square), there is a large monument dedicated to war vets, and surrounded by American Flags, and this fell right into the theme. They should us walking towards the monument, carrying a flag, sticking in the ground, and they has us wired with microphone's, and we started to read the names engraved on the monument. It was now about 3:00PM, the when we finished we went to a nice Italian restaurant had dinner and off they went to Rhode Island to do the next interview. It was a fascinating experience, to see how these documentaries are put together, how long it take's and how many hour are spent putting together an hour show it's incredible. These 4 gentlemen from Texas, we just as polite and professional as could be. It was almost sad when it was all over. It's really difficult to put in the written word the full impact of the whole experience, you had to live it, but I hope you get the idea as to how it all went. did " good " !!! The show will air in December and right now it's called " D-Day Remembered " Till next time! Love & Hugs ************************************* Some people succeed in spite of their handicap. Guest guest
Thanks Sandy! Yes I was proud, and everytime he tells his story, I learn something new, but the bottom line is, what a horrible thing for an 18 year old to go thru. Rita Till next time!
