hey.....lm not a guy....but l have 2 young daughters on thyroid meds...my

one went on at l5...she was active with soccer and high school and one day just

couldnt get out of bed...we didnt really notice at the time but her face and

ankles were very swollen with water....her tsh was fine but her t4 even

though in limits was at the very bottom of the limits....the doc l took her too

said a teen needs to have the t4 at the upper l/4 of the numbers....put her on

3 grains of armour...she lost l5 lbs....all that water weight and took up

playing the bagpipes....played with a local band and went to Scotland to the

finals....meaning...she had plenty of energy...and wind to do that.....5 years

later my younger daughter was just getting puffier and puffier....she was

playing volleyball...basketball...running...swimming and just getting heavier

and heavier...ok..crabbier and crabbier too...l had her tested and even though

all her numbers...and l mean all her numbers...tsh of l.75 too....were all

normal...she had elevated antibodies.....she has been on armour 2 l/4 grains for

6 weeks...she has lost l0 lbs already....never had to miss a beat like my

other daughter who actually got sick....l am seeing her cheekbones for the

first time in about 7 years.....l am thinking it started for her in the 4th

grade...she is a freshman now.....its very suttle...my doc goes by temps and

she

was running low...along with the symptoms was enough for him.....l was the one

that wanted the bloodwork and he was right...hashis...just like me....l

would say a young man like yourself should be on at least 3 grains

....minimum....l am on 6.....thats what it takes for me.....Val V.
