Aw, sweetie, we're all here for ya!

Let me start off by suggesting something that sounds pretty intuitive, but

it's true. Cheats happen. ANYONE who's been following this WOE for any

length of time has had at least one. The key to continued success is to

get right back on track THAT DAY! Don't let a momentary lapse turn into an

all-day binge. All-day binges lead to a week of trouble, and that leads

to, well, you get the idea. Get right back on track! Drink LOTS of water,

make sure to eat your veggies, and eat some of your favorite low-carb

foods. Have a steak maybe, or whatever you love. Then, don't look back!

Do you have some L-Glutamine? If so, TAKE IT! 1000mg w/each meal is a good

guideline, and it really helps to stave off cravings 'til you get back on

track.

And don't forget, it really does take almost a month to form a new habit.

If you can get through one month without any hitches, it's MOSTLY smooth

sailing from then on. I know a month seems like a long time, but if you

use some good coping strategies, you'll be set!

Also, it might turn out that you're like me. I've been doing this for 4

months now, but still I know that there are certain foods that I CAN'T

have in the house. In the beginning, it was even worse. I didn't let ANY

sweets or temptations into the house. And no, my hubby didn't suffer. He

had no problem with it 'cause it was a way that he could help support me.

Maybe you might have to do something like that.

Those things really stick with ya sometimes, I know. But she doesn't know

you now. Don't let her win. Just pick up right where you left off and

don't look back!

Connie,

I think adults who set up prophecies like that for children should be hung out to dry by their toes! How awful!

Guess what? You are NOT a quitter, and further more, you ARE a succeeder!

Connie A - I want you to remember this for the rest of your life... are you

ready???

YOU ARE NOT A QUITTER, YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO DO THIS!

Just repeat that over and over, you need to wipe out that memory your

teacher instilled, no teacher should tell a child that. One of my favorite

Central College graduates told me about the day he walked into his high

school teacher's classroom with his degree from Central in hand. He told

his teacher to never again tell a student not to dream. She had told him

that he would not be able to cut it at Central, that he should go to an

easier school. Well, he graduated in 4 years, he studied on our overseas

program in London, was the first African-American student to EVER serve as

an intern in the British Parliament, he was student body president at a

school that is 95 percent Caucasian and he accomplished his educational

dreams and more. Just believe in yourself and you can do anything!

My brother had a high school teacher who told my mom AND him that he

would amount to nothing. The day my brother got his PhD from

Princeton (on a scholarship, no less), my mom called this teacher up.

And I have to tell you Connie, if my brother who really didn't study

in high school and spent most of his days surfing at the beach ended

up teaching at NYU (ok have I bragged enough? <g>), I'm 100% sure

that you will succeed in anything you want.

Good luck,

Vered

Connie, Please don't give up. I know how you feel after you eat

something that you shouldn't but just start over again. Don't let self

pity ruin your motivation. You can do this Connie. Reread the book to

get yourself going again. Good Luck\

It's funny you mention re-reading the book to get re-motivated. That

totally works for me! I read part of it just about every day. His

enthusiasm is soooo contagious.
