Guest guest
, I looked into the Sensory Learning Program here in Boulder Colorado. It all sounds great and they wanted to do a trial session to see how Chase would respond, but the cost is EXTREMELY out of reach for us at this point in time (about $4,000). If you do not mind me asking, what was the total cost of the program? And do you know of any way to get reimbursed by insurance? Thanks, Kris Wrote: > > My son had auditory processing issues and visual > stimming mostly. We went through the Sensory Learning > Program and I can say that these things are almost > nonexistent. Guest guest
The total cost was $2550. Insurance will not cover as of yet but some have used Autism Support Funds or MR Funds to cover it. Ask them if they have any scholarship programs available. Here in Georgia, we have one that a parent started. You never know, they may have something like that in Boulder. They are, afterall, the home base. Sensory Learning was the turning point for my son. I owe a large majority of his progress to the program. I'm curious, where did the $4000 figure come from? --- Emery <jahnk@...> wrote: > , > I looked into the Sensory Learning Program here in > Boulder Colorado. Guest guest
, I did not get the $4,000 quote from the Sensory learning Center, it came from our Early Intervention OT (second hand info) that sees a family that did the program in Boulder a short time ago with great success. All I know is that even $2550 is beyond our ability right now. Both my son's, Chase 4.2yo and Gage 2.11yo have DSI and I was preparing to look in to a scholarship to see if we can qualify for some assistance or if there is a way to get reimbursed through insurance so we can proceed with the program. I have held off on the initial trial session until I know it is a sure thing (don't won't to get our hopes up and then be turned down). Guest guest
Some people in our area are using Autism Support Funds to help pay for it. Also, check into scholarships. Are you wanting to do both of your sons. They might give you a break if you do both. I know a couple here who did that and got a financial break. There is one other funding source I will check into for you and get back with you. E-mail me privately if you need. --- Emery <jahnk@...> wrote: > , > > I did not get the $4,000 quote from the Sensory > learning Center, it came > from our Early Intervention OT (second hand info) > that sees a family that > did the program in Boulder a short time ago with > great success.
