question about salvia testing

I collected my samples for my saliva test today. When I was going over the

form to make sure everything was filled out, I noticed on the instructions

where it says to wash your mouth out with cold water before putting in the

cotton swab. Will it mess up the test that I didn't do this? I didn't eat or

drink anything within an hour of each specimen.

I doubt it I thnk thta is just to stimulate fresh saliva flow.
