Guest guest
-New Dr has given hubbie EXTRA acid to take each night meal as a trial. Indigestion is caused by lack of acid ... not too much. Hubbie is testing high for b12 and Dr is suspicious that he is not digesting his food and B12 may not be getting into cells correctly. T3 meds start soon. May need B12 injections to boost cell uptake of B12. Jane -- In The_Thyroid_Support_Group , Lair wrote: > > Hi > One other thing you might consider is the Prevacid. Dr seems to think that hypothyroidism and lack of B-12 go hand in hand-and if you are having problems with GERD or acid reflux disease, you need MORE stomach acid, not less. You can increase that with vitamin B-12 and/or Betaine. Also, lack of stomach acid makes it much more difficult for your body to derive any nutrients from your food or supplements. Hope this helps - > >
