Guest guest
Sorry, I didn't clarify myself. I did the Diagnos Tech saliva to learn that I was stage 5 of adrenal fatigue. Cortsol burden was 22 (23-42)althoug I am unsure what that means. I am weaning meself off of Levoxyol and Cytomel and want to have all my OTHER tests done. Can the other thyroid Aldosterone, ferratin, etc. be done while on cortisol and, if so, what test should i request? Thanks so much for your advice- > >>Once I'm off all thyroid meds for 2 weeks, what test is recommended to > get a full picture of everything else since I'm on cortisol?<< > > It is not thyroid meds you need to be off for accurate testing, it is ALL adrenal meds. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >

Aldosterone you would want to cut as much salt as possible form your diet for 48 hours prior to the blood draw. You should also have it done as early in the AM as you can get there. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
, as Val said, you don't need to be off thyroid meds to do the tests you listed. I would even consider it a little risky, if your body needs it. When I naively lowered my thyroid meds I developed severe hypoglycemia and high blood pressure, both of which I'd never had before. Just a word of warning. Barb > > Sorry, I didn't clarify myself. I did the Diagnos Tech saliva to > learn that I was stage 5 of adrenal fatigue. Just wanted to add that on the HypoPit forum says that women need to do their aldosterone testing the first week of their cycle, anytime after that can give a false high reading, which I had happen to me when I had mine done the 3rd week of my cycle, it was really high and my dr couldn't figure out why. Then I read Chris's post and the light bulb went on, so I am re-testing. How it is drawn matters too, whether you are lying down, sitting, or standing. I think he said optimally you should be lying down when they do the draw, but you would have to check on that one.
