I am on 17.5mg and I have high AM cortisll and almost none at noon the n normal the rest of the day. I seem to need a bedtime an d morning doses more than anything but I still take 4 doses a day, 5 at 6AM, 5 at 10AM, 2.5 at 2PM and 5 at bedtime. The 5 at bedtime is needed to lower my AM cortiosl a bit and this seems ot work., -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
>>how do you have high cortisol in the am if your taking h.c?can hc lower high cortisol?<< I have high cortisll ONLY in thew AM, it is low by noon. It is a juggling act sort of the same as block & replace which can be done in hyperthyroidism. I also have recently learned of cortisol resistance which would mean it takes more cortiosl for the body to get the same benefits that others get from less. I suspect I may also be in that category. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
>>So, it is a good thing. Nothing wrong with lots of energy in the morning!<< No not good energy. And it si destroying my muscle tone. I can feel my muscles getting weaker all the time. I can;t do things that I could even a year ago. It also means I have to take extra insulin to bring the glucose down. HIGH cortisol is very destructive to the body though it takes a long time ot do the damage it si BAD. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
Were you not on a much higher dose of HC at one point? If so, how long were you on the higher dose before you began weaning down, and are you still weaning down from 17.5? thanks, sol wrote: > I have high cortisll ONLY in thew AM, it is low by noon. First time I felt good till a major stressor happened, the second time I got off it wiht Florinef btu then started major fluid retention so had to get off Floeinef and back on HC, I am taoering slowly off it again this time but will probably not be totally off it till mid February UNLESS I get ill. Last Winter was rough with illnesses for me, I am praying I do nto start that again this year. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
>>What do you do to control high AM cortisol<< 5MG HC at bedtime helps control this. Also you shoudl be checked to see if oyu have sleep apnea as this can be a cause of very high Am cortiosl too. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
Val, How can you sleep when you take 5mg at night? Doesn't that keep you wired? When I take my 5mg first thing in the morning, I'm wired until it's time to take my next dose--and I'm only on a total of 12.5mg now. Maybe my body is reacting to the 25ugm Levoxyl and 5ugm cytomel dumping into my system??? P > > >>What do you do to control high AM cortisol<< > > 5MG HC at bedtime helps control this. Guest guest
That depends on the individual and how the HC supresses the adrenals. Right now I am taking 5 - 5 - 5 and just went to this today, I take 5 at 5am 5 at 10 am and then 5 at bedtime. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
