Guest guest
Medicare would become your primary insurance and be billed first. Depending on your BCBS policy they would pick up all or part of the 20% that Medicare holds you responsible for. Medicare will only reimburse 80% on covered service. Usually, if Medicare denies payment on something, BCBS would also deny it. The best advice I can give you is to check with BCBS and see what your specific policy is ie: is it a supplemental policy. Guest guest
---Donna, If you are on disability social security, you can take medicare which will pay the 80% that you bcbs pays. I think you said you had bcbs. They will deduct a certain amount from your s.s. for this. I think it is around $35 per month. Then you can convert your bcbs to pick up the 20%. Our bcbs secondary is about a grand + or - a year.depending on what suppliment you choose and your age. We pay nothing but the cost of the insurances. If you follow the rules and your Dr. knows the rules. I would call or see your s.s. office first and verify if this fits your case. Then see BCBS. Hope this will help you and not confuse you. I keep a log on both of us. Every DR vist, lab work and what was done and what was paid. Also if med.refuses payment bcbs will also. Have you Dr. refile, they make mistakes all the time. That is why I keep records. Byron and - FL In PLS-FRIENDS , " rosestone3 " <rosestone3@y...> wrote: > I have a private policy that pays 80%.
