Guest guest
I was revised, but just repaired. NO change of TYPE of surgery. Distal RNY to distal RNY Thanks, Vitalady T www.vitalady.com If you are interested in PayPal, please click here: https://secure.paypal.com/affil/pal=vitalady%40bigfoot.com Revison Has anyone had a revision from a RNY to another RNY? My RNY was 9 years ago. My pouch stretched out and my stoma stretched out. I stared gaining weight after losing 150 lbs after about 4 years from surgery. I am still 60 lbs less than my highest but don't seem to be able to lose no matter what I do. I have insurance approval for a revision of my past RNY to another RNY but have been reading about the BPD DS. I can't find a Dr. in Alabama that does the BPD DS. Does anyone know of a DR. that will do a revision in Alabama either to a BPD DS or to another RNY? I have approval for a Dr. in Atlanta - just trying to check on some alternatives. I am very interested of experiences anyone has had of a revision from RNY to another RNY. Please reply

Guest guest
- I haven't had a revision, but have heard from many on the list who have. Getting your pouch reformed is fine, but make sure the surgeon transects it this time. And also, make sure he will make you a more distal bypass. With more malabsorption, you will have an easier time losing and keeping the weight off. Do you know how much was bypassed in your original surgery? Of course, if you are made more distal, it will be very important for you to take your vitamins every day and use protein supplements to insure you are absorbing protein. Have you used protein supplements since your original surgery? If not, now is the time to start. Building up your protein reserves will make your tissues easier to work with during surgery, and make your recovery easier as well. I recommend you go to www.vitalady.com and order some samples to try. She has the best tasting protein drinks around. Well, this has gotten long. Take care. Guest guest
I had a staple line disruption at 5 yrs. I had the old fashioned non-transected type surgery.
