Guest guest
has measles! (Going to the surgery tomorrow for saliva test to confirm, no Koplik's spots to be seen but I'm confident it is measles, Birth to Five book says measles, NHS Direct (phone) says it is measles, GP on call over the phone says it is measles...but NHS Direct website so obsessed with promoting MMR it was claiming it was extremely unlikely it could be measles as he has had MMR and was virtually immune (so I have complained about that as he is evidently not really immune!)) He is reasonably OK, if very unattractive and occasionally in need of paracetamol - nothing like I remember being when I had it, thank goodness. Yesterday we travelled to London on a packed train, on the tube, on the Eye etc etc How very anti-social of us! In laws were a little *too* pleased to hear he has started playgroup (they don't seem to understand the concept of NCT open houses or parent and toddler activities and think he never sees any other children besides his brother - they seem to think that full time parental care for under threes is a form of child abuse) Well, now we can tell them what wonderful things he has got out of going already :-))))) (There had been a case of measles there, so it seems a reasonable bet that is where he got it) -- jennifer@...
