Guest guest
Hi From time to time I notice people enquiring about certain items of equipment. Here in Melbourne, I have access to a fairly comprehensive database managed by an organisation called the Independent Living Centre. As well as having the database, they have a large showroom where quite a lot of equipment is on display. The equipment ranges from special knives, forks, spoons, cups through to chairs, beds, continence aids, catheter equipment, scooters, wheelchairs, and so on. When was recommended by her OT to get a motorised wheelchair through a government grant, she was able to try out several chairs at the Centre and the staff there decided which one they thought she should select. If people in this group do not have access to a database like this one, then I recommend they check this one out. It may at least help you when talking to your OT or whoever. The web address is http://deis.vic.gov.au If you have any problems accessing the database, please let me know.
