I have rheumatoid arthritis and my doctor told me it was probably from having Human Parvovirus (aka Fifth Disease), which is another illness a LOT of teachers get. He said that they see a lot of RA in adult patients with human parvo. Never had Epstein-Barre... Makes you wonder about the role of viruses in autoimmunity. Hmmmm....
