Guest guest
You should know better than to ask an ex-Celebrex rep that question. lol (laugh out loud) I take Celebrex(200mg twice daily), can't function well without it. My legs stiffen more and I have pain. Celebrex is a COX-2 inhibitor. If you scan the MEDLINE studies you will find yet another study that stated improvement of patients with ALS, PD, and Parkinson's with COX-2 Inhibition. The discusion is whether the COX- 2 Inh is healing neurons or whether it is decreasing the inflammation and allowing the body to heal itself. I adopt the Eastern philosophy of this " Who cares how it happened. It's happening and it's good " I have met the man who discovered the compound in Celebrex...from a rooster's comb ...and he wasn't from WV. He predicted that the benifits would reach far beyond arthritis. His reward - last I heard his research got canned when Pfizer bought Pharmacia. Eva in WV > Is anyone taking Celebrex? Guest guest
> Is anyone taking Celebrex? What results?have you noticed any >improvement ? GEO I take Celebrex. Partly for pain, partly for the neuro-protective qualities. I seriously doubt we PLSers will see any improvements from drugs like celebrex (other than pain relief)because the improvements are in the brain in the form of protecting sick neurons. But, hopefully, we might see a slowing of progression. Since our progression is relatively slow, it is hard to judge if it is slower or not. Slower than what??? That is the question, since we don't have any idea if our progression would have been slow anyway. And what is slow??? So taking Celebrex is something we do like taking our daily vitamins. Or eating our vegetables. :-)
