contractures.

I am on digest and didn't highlight the part of the Grandfather's post about his

grand daughter. It really hit home because it sounds like my son .

Let me tell you about him and I look forward to any advice. He was a late

walker, and now late talker. When he started ST he barely used a handful of

words, but now he puts many words together to form sentences. He will be 3 next

month and will use sentences of 3 - 5 and sometimes more words. They aren't all

clear but some are perfect.... when HE wants to use them. When he is playing

he'll speak very clear and we all just look at each other as in... who said

that?

He has been in EI it seems forever and is now transitioning into the Child Find

school system here in Fla. The Child Find evaluator that observed him in class

through out to me that she is suggesting the Autistic class for him as the EELP

isn't enough for him.

He is so social people say he plays Senator Jake and has to 'press the flesh' by

shaking hands with everyone that walks in. The evaluator said he had poor eye

contact and didn't want to be involved with the circle time.

He has this, what we call.... excited tick where his arms go rigid and his

wrists kinda turn. He only does it in pure excitement and doesn't ever use it

to withdraw and all therapists, drs, etc have told me that he is not Autistic.

WHAT should I be looking for? I feel at my wits end!
