Guest guest
Hi Kate I couldn't agree more about both Dylan's & Serendipity & it's just across the street from Bloomingdale's. I have an appt. w/ Dr. Agin at the end of November, I hope you post here about your visit, I know I would be very interested & I'm sure others would be too. THANKS > Jill, > > Just wanted to give you a little heads up. Both Newark and are very urban areas. Unless you are used to that environment, I would not recommend either of those places. I would recommend staying in Summit (you can take the midtown direct train into Penn Station ). You could also stay in Madison. Either of those places are about a 45 minute train ride. If you rent a car, the drive would take between 45 minutes and 2 hours depending on traffic. If your appointment is in the AM, you might also want to stay in Manhattan. I can recommend hotels if you want to go that route. > > As far as activities in NYC, I highly recommend The American Girl Doll Store. You can visit the dolls, see a little show and have lunch in the cafe. I brought my nieces and they loved it! > > A broadway show is always a highlight as well. My niece is reading this over my shoulder and her recommendation is Dylan's Candy Bar. They have just about any type of candy you could ever want! There is a great restaurant called Serendipity 3 nearby. It has amazing frozen hot chocolate. The down side is if you don't get there right when they open, you could wait for hours to get in. My niece also likes a restaurant called America. Ask to sit by the window and you can watch the fire station across the street. > > I have an appointment with Dr Agin in October. It took about a year to get it! Let me know if you need any other information. Have agreat trip, there really isn't any other city like NYC!! > > Kate > > > > ______________ ______________ ______________ ______________ > Sent via the KillerWebMail system at Mail.millburn.org
Guest guest
Oh man Kate thanks so much for the memory! America, forgot about that one -didn't they have the fluffer nutter sandwich on the menu?! I still say it's best to stay right in NYC -but in NJ Summit is a great town, and I just love The Grand Summit Hotel who has been nice enough to donate rooms to CHERAB in the past. Here are some photos of it: http://www.cherab.org/information/phototrip2000.html =====
Guest guest
Thank you. I am printing up all of this information to make sure I don't miss anything. :-) I plan way in advance. We'll be there most likely from May 29th through June 4th. 's appointment is at 10 am, so maybe a Manhattan hotel would be the best. I'd hate to risk being stuck in traffic and missing it.
