Guest guest
Well everyone just wanted to say that Deante was measured for the AFOs today. It went really well. He did really good. He had fun with the measuring tape. He called it a long ruler. Let me remind you Deante is not quiet 2 yet and he knew what it was.. I laughed when he said it , it was so cute..Can someone tell me about how long it takes for AFOs to be made? I would just like say that we also see Dr. Dobbs and have had nothing but a positive experience with him and Shriner's. He is a wonderful, caring doctor who truly cares about your baby. My son was evaluated by two orthopedic docs prior to seeing Dr. Dobbs. He screamed and cried when they manipulated his feet (high pitched screams because he was in pain). Dr. Dobbs never made scream like this and I have seen him several times if he had a crying baby he would pick them up. had his first visit with Dr. Dobbs when he was 2 1/2 weeks old. He is now almost 2 1/2 years old. We live in KY and drive about 230 miles to Shriner's. Sometimes we do the trip in one day and sometimes we will stay at a hotel in St. Louis. There is a Holiday Inn close to Shirner's that gives a $49 rate for Shriner's pts. I think there is a Mc House there too, but we never have checked into this because we have never stayed more than one night. Just wanted to let you know a little of our experience. Good luck with your research and the rest of your pregnancy. Guest guest
I was just curious why your son needs AFO's. Is he not wearing a DBB?
Guest guest
When Simon got his it took about 3 weeks to get them. Did you say that they measured him with a tape? They actually put a cast like mold on Simon when he was fitted for his afo's. Anyway I was jsut curious. > >Reply-To: nosurgery4clubfoot >To: nosurgery4clubfoot >Subject: Measured for Afos >Date: Tue, 27 Jan 2004 19:07:41 -0800 (PST) > > >Well everyone just wanted to say that Deante was measured for the AFOs >today. Guest guest
, I thought they had to cast the leg and foot for AFO's too. I was told they take about 2w and are quite expensive (2K). How are his feet doing? Any setbacks or relapses? Have you ever tried the DBB? Kori At 07:07 PM 1/27/04, you wrote: >Well everyone just wanted to say that Deante was measured for the AFOs >today.
