Guest guest Posted February 22, 2005 Report Share Posted February 22, 2005 Friends' Health Connection & Wood University Hospital Hamilton Present An Evening of Art Creation featuring Nitza i Horner Accomplished artist, sculptor and educator of The Metropolitan Museum of Art Nitza i Horner will teach participants new ways to enhance cognitive abilities and increase self-awareness through artistic creativity. Participants will learn how to see detail in slides, chosen from the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection, that reflect legendary ancient myths such as Egyption afterlife and legends such as Washington crossing the Delaware River. Following this, participants will use colored pencils to create a take-home sketchbook capturing a legendary moment in their own childhood. This workshop will help members promote emotional and physical healing through the fundamentals of art creation. Nitza Horner teaches art in shelters, hospitals, schools, and many non-profit organizations. As a sculptor, she works in stone, concrete, plaster and clay.
