Guest guest
Thanks, Jeanne, for sending this info. I've been thinking about a bar mitzvah in Josh's future and was wondering where to turn. The temple I currently belong to has only a student rabbi a couple of times a month so wouldn't be too much help. And I know it is going to take Josh longer to accomplish what he needs to. I also know that my cousin's son, who has autism and other issues, had his bar mitzvah when he turned 16 and did a fantastic job - so it can be done! Take care! Guest guest
Hi Sherry, How are things? I hope you had a nice channukah and a pleasant new year. I know that it goes also for Adam and Josh. When they show interest in attending, then maybe I will start the process. Btw I never had mine done either. > > Thanks, Jeanne, for sending this info. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne - No, I never had mine either - I was raised Lutheran and Jewish but I've embraced Judaism more as I've gotten older and am even learning Hebrew finally, although I still keep all the traditions that I grew up with. So, this season, as in everyone since I was a kid, I had a Christmas tree, a menorah and all the Hanukkah goodies, and now we've added Kwanzaa. It was a busy season with all of them hitting at the same time! It's not quite so hectic or confusing when Hanukkah comes earlier. Just got back from temple a bit ago - third time since the Fall that Josh has sat through an entire service - YEAH! It helps that this student rabbi plays guitar and is pretty cool. Things are moving along here, the divorce will, hopefully, be finalized by the end of the month. It has not been pretty, but then again, what divorce is? Take care and keep in touch.
