I think which camp you're in is dependent upon your personality. For the " tough, don't- take-no-sh*t " types, the physical problems are the original cause of any bodily malfunction. I put Val, Sol, and myself in this camp. I have no problems saying no to anyone or " get outta my face. " I think my adrenal fatigue is from having an undermedicated thyroid due to doctors' inability to tolerate a suppressed TSH, and multiple stressors this year took me down. Other women, due to religous or cultural upbringing, are TAUGHT not to rock the boat, to please others (husbands, children) even at a cost to their own health. These are the ones who would internalize all stress, with illness as a result. So in this case the mind would be the source of illness. So where does illness start first, in the mind or body? Yes.
