Guest guest
I exhausted my bank account and then my credit YEARS ago trying to get a doctor to help me. When I was in debt over $150,000 and could get no more credit and barely able to work to support myself I just stopped going to doctors. I was told then I had mess than 2 years to live. Since then I have been studying and self treating which is all I can afford to do and doiung a better jpob if it than I think ANY doctor could have done for all the money in the world. Runningout of fundss in effect saved my life. SO hang in there it is not always the end of the world to not see doctors for this illness! BTW that 2 years to live was 12-13 years ago,, can't remember which now. But long enough I definitely got the last laugh and my credit is finally coming back too! Guest guest
, I can SO relate. I make a choice between my supplements and doing tests myself versus paying a doctor since I don't have medical insurance and even when I did the premiums killed me. I have spent my life savings on trying to figure out what was wrong with me and treat so I can SO relate. And like it or not I have to start a new job in a few months...not even knowing if I can handle it or not. If I were healthy I could make that money back...start over. But trying to start over middle aged when your health is keeping you down seems hopeless sometimes. I have been self employed but we don't get the tax breaks the big corporations do so the cost to do business is so much higher plus to really make enough you have to put in a lot of hours...not easy to do when suffering. If ever I get wealthy enough I want to start a foundation to specifically help people with just this thing. Trying to get on disability is a nightmare for the chronically ill. And the foundations I have checked into do not provide enough help. Cheri How can we pay for medical care if we're not healthy enough to work! This urks me! I don't get how these docs can charge through the roof , when the patients that are seeking there care cannot work due to severe fatigue and such. I don't understand how people afford to go to doctors at all when they cannot work to pay for it. Im carely able to work myself. I can work at home, but havent found much, and opting to find a good doc that will test everything and ensure the best treatment for my problems...is so difficult when I call and find out even the intial visit is 295 an hour or 395 up front!!! Anyone else face this problem? How did you afford to get started with one of these docs that don't accept insurance? .
Guest guest
And that was because of adrenals?addisons? thyroid? both? Wow! Im glad there are folks like you that are out here helping people. > > >.Wow- Val, what were you diagnosed with where they said you had two > years to live?<< > > Congestive Heart Failure, BP 245/148, Cholesterol >600 > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >
Guest guest
I've said the same thing. Im only 23! When I get well... I'm going to devote my life to making a difference with this (thyroid/adrenal problems). I want to battle the insurance aspect of it. I don't understand why insurance companies argue with the fact of having an hour or so consultation. Or at least thats what the holistic docs say as to why they cannot accept insurance. > > , > I can SO relate. Guest guest
Oh, so I guess I've just learned something. I guess when the heart isn't working properly and going into failure that BP goes up to compensate. Is that correct? Guest guest
Insurance companies find every way to screw you over because they are about one thing, profit for the CEOs and top executives. It's called murder by spreadsheet. I was an executive in a big corporation...I know the game all too well regardless of the industry. And what really, really ticks me off is our tax dollars are giving them huge subsidies in the form of corporate welfare (billions) on top of what we pay for premiums and we are still denied. We are paying them to keep us sick. It is about as corrupt as one can imagine and every friend working in the industry from claim evaluators, to drug researchers to physicians says the same thing. I know a woman who was in charge of denying claims, then when she got sick, her OWN claim was denied. Kind of poetic justice. I don't know if you have ever seen the movie Sicko. I am not a fan of the guy but for those of us who have had to navigate this horrible system, the message cannot be denied that we need a complete overhaul. More and more people I know are going to Mexico for their healthcare. Cheri Re: How can we pay for medical care if we're not healthy enough to work! I've said the same thing. Im only 23! Guest guest
>>Oh, so I guess I've just learned something. I guess when the heart isn't working properly and going into failure that BP goes up to compensate. Is that correct<< Nope. BP was high from several things, fluid retention (BIG TIME) from Myxedema Coma and dehydration from low sodium and possibly high cortisl though it was not confirmed. Cholesterol cloggin g the arteries causes high BP too as well as extra work for the heart. HYPO was the biggest problem though as it caused the chest dfluid that smothers the heart in CHF adn then the heart enlarges trying to do it's work and then it si considered terminal, AND incurable! They are wrong, the heart has amazing healing abilities if you give it what it needs to do so. I did I gave it sodium in the sea salt and lots of T3 to rebuild the muscle and lower the cholesterol. When these things corr4cted the heart returned to normal size and though I feel it is not as strong as someone else's heart it is functioning normally now. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Val, I am about to join you. We can no longer afford to pay for our health ins which does not cover anything out of the hospital. We learned recently when DH was hospitalized with AF that they do not cover most of the tests IN the hospital. I am forced to cancel the policy so that we will have some funds to pay out of pocket. I have found myself in the position of being forced to learn to self treat for both DH & I. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that you are sharing what you know with all of us. Thank you Gale & DH > > I exhausted my bank account and then my credit YEARS ago trying to > get a doctor to help me. Guest guest
Yeah, I don't know about going to Mexico for Medical care. A vacation would be nice, but I'd be scared I'd come home sicker than before. I wonder how many people have started fighting against insurance agencies about this matter, at least to get holistic care approved more. There has to be some folks out there that have tried to make a difference. There are so many people suffering from thyroid and adrenal issues, and words now starting to get out about proper treatment. I believe almost every other condition you can imagine is linked to the endocrine system, meaning the more research the better. Also, there is no place to go and get information like this other than on the net. I keep thinking about the people who don't have the internet. THere needs to be an informational non-profit business center to hold live support groups and a place where people can walk out with a pamplet of information about there specific needs. Funding for something like this is impossible though. I've looked into it a little bit, and seems hopeless unless I make it non-profit and raise money for some foundation by telemarketing, or events. All I can hope for is my kid doesn't have the same problem. I'm going to go spend my tax money for a doctor, and I BETTER GET BETTER. I found a few off the top michigan thyroid doctor site, so they better be good. I've done my homework on most of them. DARG! It just urks me, how the world came to this. A few years back, I was so carefree and life was a party, and now am realizing how unfair things are really set up. > > Insurance companies find every way to screw you over because they are about > one thing, profit for the CEOs and top executives.
