Root canal next week and antibiotics

Just my luck that I have to have a root canal re-treated next week.

The appointment is at 2:45 so do I double my afternoon HC dose for

stress-dosing and take it early - 10mg instead of 5mg?

Also, he wants me on ABs for the week prior so he gave me Amoxicillin

which is not going to be easy on the GI. I recall reading that some

of the ABs are worse than others for us, but I don't think that Amoxi

was on the list. OK to take?
