Guest guest
Hi , I'm from the UK too. I felt I was getting nowhere with the NHS so I went to see Dr Gordon Skinner in Birmingham. Here is a link to his website. http://www.thyroideducation.com/index.htm He prescribes T3 and Armour. --- shadysheepie wrote: > Hello everyone I am from the UK I'm 38 years > old Married to > who is 58 I have 4 children 4 cats 2 dogs and > a pet rabbit. > My husband had his thyroid removed 33 years ago, > Due to a extremely > overactive thyroid. Guest guest
With no thyroid at all, he definitely probably MUST have Armour or another brand of natural thyroid. The old healthy thyroid used to make a lot of T4, but a little bit of it's own T3, and there has to be a good reason for that. I'm an Armour advocate, but can't take the large amts of T3 in Armour, that is, byt itSELF, as the dosage moves upward into the 2 grain range and higher. My body doesn't like LOW T3, but it doesn't like the higher amts in the higher dosages, for some strange reason. We have some people here who take anywhere from 4 to 9 or 10 grains, in some rare cases. 4 grains isn't rare, but anywhere above that probably means that they have thyroid hormone cellular resistance. What are his lab values, or yours, for that matter? And, BTW, Welcome!
