Guest guest
Hi Val- Repost of my saliva results from 11/12 and overview of my appt with new Dr. today. 7-8am 19 normal (13-24 nM) 11-noon 4 depressed (5-10nM) 4-5pm 2 depressed (3-8nM) 11-midnight 3 normal (1-4nM) cortisol burden 28 (23-42) DHEA 6 normal (3-10ng/ml fTSH 40 normal (26-85 nIU/mL fT4 .18 normal (.17-.42ng/dl) fT3 .29 normal (.28-1.10 pg/ml TPO negative e2 16 (7-20pg/ml) all hormones day 21 of cycle P1 349 (65-500pg/m) TTF 12 (normal 8-20 pg/mL) So I went to my new Dr. today and she is going to do blood tests for TSH ,free T4 and T3, total serum cortisol, estradiol, total testosterone and ferritin. Her clinic is just barely starting to use the saliva tests and she said she felt more comfortable with the bloodwork than saliva because she is trained that way. She did acknowledge that my cortisol was slightly low and that is why she ordered the total cortisol. You had told me to get a ACTH stim test and LH and FSH. She wouldn't do the stim test unless my results show low on the overall cortisol that was drawn today. Didn't get the LH and FSH either. So she definitely wouldn't prescribe the cortef. Don't know that cortef will be an option with this Dr as she told me even at 20mg it suppresses your own adrenal function. I think she's looking for full blown addisons only? She is going to up my Armour though (how much depends on how my labs come out) and you had said to get some adrenal support in place before doing this. What is my best bet, Isocort or HC cream? And how much? I still haven't done my temps as I never seem to be around in 3 hr intervals to do it. It sounds like she still doses somewhat off TSH as she said she would like to see it between .1-1. That is good compared to my last Dr, who wouldn't up my dose after 2 years even when my TSH was getting worse and I was feeling miserable. What are your thoughts for the best way to do the adrenal support? And the tests she ordered? Thanks for your help,
