4 months post-op report

Hi everyone! I am so happy to report I am officially four months post-op and

feeling great. My nausea is gone (finally) and I'm bursting with energy. My

quality of life is so much better than pre-op. I was always tired and

drained of energy, I didn't want to go out and socialize with people because

I was ashamed of being so MO. I didn't want to see old acquaintances for

fear they would notice how much weight I gained and they would think I was a

weak ugly person. Now I feel much better about myself and have felt up to

visiting people I haven't visited for a long time.

I can walk long distances with out pain (Before surgery I could barely walk

a block without excruciating pain). My asthma seems like it's gone- I

haven't had to use any asthma medication since the surgery. My blood

pressure is healthy. I was so happy to hit the under two hundred pound mark-

for me that was a real milestone. I can fit into clothes from " normal " size

stores and am looking forward to wearing summer clothes.

What's the downside currently?: At this point nothing really, however, I

just recently noticed lots of hair in my brushes and on my clothes. I guess

the hairloss has started. I am not worrying about it too much because I have

lots of hair and have been taking Zinc and Selenium these past four months.

I am hoping this is only temporary.

Reality before four months post-op: Just wanted to note that my recovery was

pretty smooth except for nausea, it just recently went away (Thank God!). I

also vomited probably a total of five times since the surgery. The last few

times was because I ate too fast, I let myself get too hungry. Just wanted

to put this in for the pre-ops. And yes, I would do it all over again for my

new found health.

I can not put into words how much better I feel in general. Before the DS, I

felt out of control and hopeless about my weight/health situation. I feel so

fortunate to have found out about obesity surgery and about the miracle of

the DS. I'm jumping with joy and enthusiasm for life.
