Guest guest Posted March 3, 2001 Report Share Posted March 3, 2001 Hi Pam, I was denied also for a Breast Reduction and a Panniculectomy/Abdominplasty. Just got a call from my lawyer that he had talked to BCBS's lawyer and I was finally approved. I had a surgery date of 1-10-01, and they denied me the day before! So I started writing letters. I went to another PS and got a letter from him, got a letter from my gastric bypass surgeon, got a letter from my PCP, my dermatologist, my chiropracter and also went to an orthopedic surgeon. Then I contacted my Congressman and my Senator. All of them wrote letters, some of them went to the CEO of the company. I quoted stuff from the plasticsurgery.com website and wrote a postion paper with all of the ICD and the other codes. It's a horrible thing, but you just have to keep going and not give up.
