Guest guest Posted June 20, 2001 Report Share Posted June 20, 2001 Hi Jeanne, I would think twice about putting any oil at all on your lips to ease the chapping, as I would anywhere else on my body with or without a SPF, just because oil would intensify the sun rays and might actually cause you major burning instead. One thing I did find with vaseline - maybe for the same reason - is that it never sank in properly. Since it is a translucent jelly maybe it also caused any sun rays to intensify. Perhaps this could be your problem - check it out with your doctor before you do anything 'rash' (ouch!).
