Not much planned here..need to clean the windows and blinds and

curtains although I have already done most of them..the boys have

one more week of school before spring break so they will be home for

a week.. baseball season starts soon so gloves are oiled.. cups

found and washed..need to buy two new pairs of cleats.. my older one

has a gymnastics competition tommorrow and another one in two weeks

at the end of spring break so I am sure extra training in

there..still debating on the flowerbed as the boys wanted fruit

instead of flowers and the strwberries did well but the blueberries

have not and need ot come out..I am hoping my uncle sends me a

clipping from his bushes as they are more hardy or I may just do

flowers for a change..

The Il's are selling so I will be helping them get the place

ready..so basically just the usual..more sports for the boys as

track sesaon is coming up soon, I now have custody of my 10 year old

nephew and he needs vision therapy that I started with him..

So between vision therapy, gymnastics, track and field , baseball

and trying to keep the house standing in the upright position with 4

boys running in and out..5 if you include daddy plus friends that

seem to follow them home and working I should be busy..

I do need to clean and organize the upstairs closet where my

deepfreezer is but everytime I think about it I am usually throwing

stuff in there that I can not find room for somewhere else..so maybe

I will get time to do that..

Theme Day

My daughter is getting married March 25th. The shower is today and I am making the food. Nervous, and have been crying a lot. Everytime I picture her in my mind I well up with tears. She has been dating and engaged to this guy for a combination of 8 1/2 years. They are both professionals and have good paying jobs. They have a great future. I volunteered to do the food, but I am exhausted and having a hard time getting it done. Not sleeping well. Along with still not feeling well it has been a burden. I am happy to do it but I am just burnt out. Well better get downstairs and get cutting. You all have a great day. If I can post again today I will. nne

Wow... I never thought of that... international travel with no language barriers.. that would put a new spin on my own dream/fantasy vacation...

I'll put mine in a separate post...

Fantasy vacations, eh? Dang, for me it would be world travel with no worries about learning the language, terrorist attacks or anything like that, followed by getting back into the mindset for being home by traveling all over Canada and then the US and meeting up with all my internet friends along the way. I'd go swimming, snorkeling, mountain biking and anything else I took a whim to do. I"m too tired to think of doing anything in detail. I'm still suffering from a UTI and just don't have any energy to do anything but go to work and come home. All the wedding planning on top of it has just worn me slap out.

Meleese, Try to see Russian Ark - its breathtaking. The final dance

scene is amazing. And ...its all so sad too ....I saw it on SBS first

- had missed opening 15 mins so couldn't understand it. Then watched

it again and .... its hauntingly beautiful. Narrated by a ghost and

you drift into diff time zones of Russian History as you drift through

the rooms of The Hermitage. Its worth watching the movie just to see

the art of The Hermitage.

Oh yes I really liked 'Russian Ark' too; I haven't

seen 'The Closet' but will look for that.

I will choose, 'American Beauty', because I just had

to watch Spacey, as in 1998 I drank whisky with

him in O'Toole's dressing room in

London........yes I really did!.'ce of Arabia'

has to be there too.

'Etre et Avoir', a documentary following a year in the

lives of a French school master and his pupils in a

tiny school, gentle and very moving.

'It's a Wonderful Life'with , soppy but

inspirational.

I love early cinema so I'll choose 'Pather Panchali',

the wonderful first film by Satyajit Ray made in 1957

with a soundtrack by Ravi Shakar. 'The Seventh Seal'

is a classic, and concerns death and the meaning of

life. 'Metropolis' a grim vision of the future ,

'Battleship Potemkin' chilling scenes on the Odessa

steps and 'Citizen Kane' have to be on this list too.

'Gone With The Wind' of course and 'Now Voyager' (I

love the closing tear jerking moments with Bette

Davies and Heinreid)

'The Emerald Forest'; Boorman directed and cast

his own son in this film; it has a powerful

environmental message as does 'Koyaanisqatsi', with

astonishing images and mindblowing soundtrack.

To recapture my youth I must mention 'Easy Rider' with

another good soundtrack -I rode a motorbike but it was

a very small one - and the original 'Italien Job', I

always wanted to drive a mini and still haven't!

Anyone seen 'The Fastest Indian'? If not, please do,

it is wonderful.

There are lots more of course.........

Thanks - some good new leads here. Try to get The Closet - I

nearly died laughing!

Why were you in OTooles dressing room !!!???

Forgot- another one -The Doors movie - the one Oliver Stone directed.

Have been a fan of Kilmer ever since.

If you like early cinema - did you ever see the b & w version of

Wuthering Heights with Lawrence Olivier & Merle Oberon (sp?)About 1939

version I think. Classic.

Liked Gone with the Wind but the book was much better. Love the book.

Have my Great auntie's hardcover version #1.

O'Toole was playing the lead in a play based on

the writings of my, at-that-time, partner's brother. I

went to see the play at the Old Vic (theatre in

London) with my at-that-time partner (who is still a

friend) and was invited backstage for a drink.

Spacey was there too; he has since put money into the

theatre and is directing a season there.

I've just looked up 'The World's Fastest Indian' to

see if it is DVD yet (next month), and apparently it

didn't make it to general release in the UK. I saw it

in a small art house cinema. Great shame, I thought

Hopkins gave a brilliant performance.

Yes I did see Wuthering Heights, wonderful, did you

see with ce Olivier in the lead role?

Also wonderful.

Haven't seen The Doors, will look that up too!
