My son is 8 months old. hey , Welcome to the group. There are many different families here with kids of all ages and communication modalities. The threads tend to be subject oriented. We ask questions, look for help with services or just share experiences. My household is incredibly busy at the moment. End of the school year always is. My husband is a teacher and this year Ian is taking Regents for the first time. (NY state level final exams). Life is running at a fast pace. So, welcome to the group. Give everyone a bit of info about your son .. type of loss, what kind of communication you're using and all that. Some of us had our kids' losses identified at birth. Others, like me, found out when they were older. Ian was about 7 years old when we first identified his loss. And it took another 8 months to determine exactly how much of a loss he had. And now he's 14 and that seems like ages ago, and yet just like yesterday. Welcome to the group -- Jill
Guest guest
Hi, . Do you mean in the chat section of the list-serve page? My son is 3 1/2. He's deaf in his right ear and has a mild loss in the left ear, which is aided. We found out last year about his right ear loss. The left ear is a recent development, and the loss appears progressive. I'm new to the group myself, probably a month or so. This has been a great resource for me. Mostly to see that other families are going through the same things we're going through. It's nice to meet you, johanna --- n wrote: > I'm new to this site.
