Guest guest
Amy, The only prob I see is the Povidone. This is an antiseptic containing iodine. May be a miniscule amt, but I'd look for another brand. Tardie Re: Ibuprofen and the LID Well, it's too late for me! Guest guest
Amy All of these are OK, but I'd love to know why they need so many. I have some here: Microcrystalline cellulose Lactose Croscarmellose sodium Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose Sodium lauryl sulphate Magnesium stearate French chalk Colloidal silicon dioxide Titanium dioxide Pretty similar, except that mine doesn't have any colors. Guest guest
My guess is, it's so the pills will hold together, not only in the bottle over however many months before being taken, but also in the mouth & on the " way down " , but still dissolve fairly fast in the stomach (ads: " fast relief! " ). Colors, if any, would just be to make them look pretty. Some pills/caplets/etc. go down easier than others, too, and that's another marketing thing. I've been using children's vitamins; they come in different shapes & colors and are chewable. I haven't checked the ingredients lately, but I'm guessing any that aren't strictly " vitamin " are for hold-together-ability, color & appeal, flavor, & chewability. bj Re: Ibuprofen and the LID > All of these are OK, but I'd love to know why they need so many. > I have some here: > Microcrystalline cellulose > Lactose > Croscarmellose sodium > Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose > Sodium lauryl sulphate > Magnesium stearate > French chalk > Colloidal silicon dioxide > Titanium dioxide > > Pretty similar, except that mine doesn't have any colors. > > Ian
