Guest guest
I am severly frustrated here. I have been using these Diastix (that go from blue to green to brown) and haven't seen them turn from negative all week. Now, when I did this WOE two years ago, I hit ketosis in 48 hours, and the Ketostix that I had turned pink. I'm eating the same way now that I did then, but nothing. Are the ones I have now the wrong kind? The pharmacist said they did the same thing, but now I wonder... I was below 20 grams carbs all week, and the last two days have been eating nothing but meat to see if they'd turn, but still negative. It just strikes me as wrong. My body feels like it's in ketosis. Aargh! Thanks for any help. Jenn in MN
Guest guest
I've never used the Diastix - i was under the impression they were for checking glucose or something *other than* ketones. My suggestion would be to ditch the Diastix and use the Ketostix... but that's just MY suggestion. -Marlena >From: netbrat@... >Reply-To: Atkins_Support_List >To: Atkins_Support_List >Subject: Ketostix/Diastix question >Date: Sat, 14 Jul 2001 02:29:42 -0000 > >I am severly frustrated here. Guest guest
Hi Ruthie, I'm in the Northwest part of the Twin Cities - Fridley area. Just moved here about nine weeks ago, and I'm loving it so far, except for not knowing anyone here. Jenn in MN =) > WHERE IN MINNESOTA ARE YOU JENN?? Guest guest
Hi Terry, That's what I was afraid of. *sigh* Back to the pharmacy for me. I am relieved, though. Couldn't figure out how in the heck I was still negative, especially when I cut out the low-carb bars. - Jenn in MN > Jenn, > > The Diastix measure sugar in urine, not ketones. Guest guest
Rats. Thanks, Marlena. I think you're right, and I'm off to find the right ones today. =) - Jenn in MN > I've never used the Diastix - i was under the impression they were for > checking glucose or something *other than* ketones. Guest guest
Laverne, I've tried it at all times with these diastix, and nothing. I usually do it first thing in the morning, just because that seems easiest. I love it up north - I have a friend who has a cabin near Sandstone. Beautiful!!! Cheers, Jenn in MN (since there so many of us 's' here *grin*) > Hey another minnesotan on the list. Thats great. Guest guest
Jenn, I went to this new pharmacy one time and they tried to sell me the Diastix instead of Ketostix since they only *had* the diastix - even tried tellin me they were " the same thing " . Glad I was a doubting-thomasina! -Marlena (ps... hope your real ketostix turn a nice shade of pink!) >From: netbrat@... >Reply-To: Atkins_Support_List >To: Atkins_Support_List >Subject: Re: Ketostix/Diastix question >Date: Sat, 14 Jul 2001 15:22:41 -0000 > >Rats.
