Guest guest
How much T3 did you start on? For a lot of us we do feel it.... the higher your starting dose, the more deficient your body is in T3, the longer you've been hypo.. the condition of your adrenals... All these things affect how much you FEEL it. Topper () On Fri, 02 Jun 2006 02:40:50 -0000 "aussi_jane" writes: First day of meds ( T3) and feel weird. Giddy, Goitre throbbing, spacey, tired, shakey. Guest guest
Started on 30 mcg 2x a day. Aches got so bad that it felt like flu. Took paracetamol and had a 2 hour mid afternoon nap. Would adrenal support help ? At least I feel warm now .... Guest guest
Did you type that exactly right? 30 mcg of T3 2 times per day? That's too much.. that's waaaay too much to start with..... What size tabs do you have? Are they 30 mcg tabs? If so... my suggestion would be to start with 1/4 tab (7 1/4 mcg) 2 times per day... give your body a week to adjust to that... determine how you are feeling.. .then increase by another 1/4 tab.... T3, when you take it directly (either in a glandular like Armour or as a synthetic) is used up by your body quickly... 95% in about 4 hours... by that time it's either been taken up by the T3 receptors of the body or passed from it... I say that so that you will understand that the effects, when extreme, should be wearing off in about that amount of time.... If you take too much, more than your body is able to handle all at once... it's very hard on your heart and other organs.. and can through you for a loop mentally as well.... some folks get anxious, others have panic attacks... others get angry... it's a very individual thing. It may very well be that your body does need that much T3 to function well.. that your body is that poor a converter.... but... I really think you'd be better off in the long run, on sooo many levels, to build up the T3 dosage more gradually, allow your body time to get accustomed to it. Increase endurance and strength.... Some folks, by adding some direct T3, are able to get body function kicked up enough to get their own conversion working better... so end up not needed to take a lot of it..... I don't know if that part made sense..... if not... let me know... .... just a small doctor bash.... some docs intentionally start patients on too high a dose of T3 with the intent of causing bad reactions and then blaming it on there being no need to add the T3 in the first place.... This is your fist day, right? Have you taken the second dose yet.? Topper () On Fri, 02 Jun 2006 12:27:07 -0000 "aussi_jane" writes: Started on 30 mcg 2x a day. Guest guest
Hi Jane, I started on T3 (added a dose to my t4) a few months ago and the first week or so I felt a bit edgy, restless and noticed warm hands and feet. I was prescribed 5 mg 2 x a day but just took one half a pill to start and worked my way up. I now take 25 mg a day and feel no side effects at all..what dose are you on? sue

My numbers are improving but I still need to lower my cholesterol and lose weight and it’s not happening as I thought it would. sue Hi Sue, Did you mean 5 mg or 5 mcg? I am on 30 mcg 2x a day. Guest guest
So you're swallowing a whole capsule, that does make it harder..... You might want to open it... do your's come in two halves that can be pulled apart? Or just take one capsule a day until your body gets stronger.... Just a thought. Guest guest
Yes - had been thinking the same. But today I feel much better ( morning here and have taken breakfast capsule 3 hours ago- 3 in total now). Just hands are aching in joints and hands, and feel tired but its lovely to feel warm and think my skin looks a better colour.I feel like my appetite ( false hunger from HypoG) is different. Eating by habit instead of false hunger/ low blood sugar. Just concerned with having capsules opened and mess trying to eat the contents. If I get bad again I may consider that. Dr was pretty sure I need adrenal support based on my long time sick and symptoms but those tests are not all back yet.
