Guest guest
Hi: I had the pregnancy from hell with my first son. I had severe hyperemesis gravidum. I had a beautiful healthy boy who spoke in sentences at 18 months. 13 months after I gave birth I was pregnant again and suffered (If posible) even worse hyperemesis gravidum. With tis pregnancy I was on a reglan pump into my stomach for the first 5 months (It didn't help) Just wondering if any other mom of apraxic children have suffered from hyperemesis. Could my lack of nutrition the first 5-6 months have affected my sons brain development? Just thinking out loud.... deborah
Guest guest
Anything is possible, Deborah. It just isn't something you can beat yourself up over. Much of the nutrition your growing baby needed would have been taken from stores in your body (fats, calcium, iron, etc) if you were not eating or keeping food down. Since we do not know if any nutrient in itself is critical to proper brain development, we can't say 100% if your illness caused anything. Things like Omega 3 fatty acids and proteins are important in brain development, but I know many women who had totally normal kids who ate minimal amounts of both of these things. What you can do now is supplement the Omega 3 fatty acids if you are not doing so already, and optimize his nutrition. Pam p.s. those pregancies sounded horrible! Were they normal sized babies?? > Hi: > > I had the pregnancy from hell with my first son. I had severe > hyperemesis gravidum. Guest guest
Normal, georgous babies, 7lbs 10 oz 10, 10 apgar scores! I am giving him the oils, I have been doing so for 4 months now and he is talking a lot more. I am so thankful for all the info on this website and for the fish oil, it has truly made a difference, i tell everyone about it! I am not beating myself up, I had no control over what happened, just thought I would put the info out there and see if there were any studies. Thanks! deb --- noaholiviaian <p.haselow@...> wrote: > > p.s. those pregancies sounded horrible! Were they > normal sized > babies??
Guest guest
I had hyperemisis with my last 2 pregnacies. Very sever and on antiemetics thoughout the 9mo with no weight gain with Chase ( severe oral/vebal Apraxia, Sensory integration dysfunction), and on meds for only first 5mo of pregnancy with 5lb weight gain with Gage ( Sensory Integration Dysfunction, possible mild verbal apraxia). I also wondered if my awful pregnancies and or the meds (compazine and phenergan) contributed to their problems. Kris Debroah wrote: > Hi: > > I had the pregnancy from hell with my first son.
