Good exercise though, huh? Had goats... something kept eating them. :-( Actually, this was just my front yard... used to be 's soccer field. We've never kept any of the animals there. I really like to mow. Not to crazy about raking, but you're right... it is good exercise. My waist is feelin' pretty toned right now from all that twisting and raking. Just hope that I'm not miserable tomorrow. hugs, Janet

The neighboring ranchers are probably lookin' at my piles and thinkin' that I need to get a life... or some cattle to graze the grass down. I went for a walk down my county road on Tuesday morning and a guy from down the road pulled up along side of me and said "I didn't recognize you without a lawn mower in front of you." LOL! We have a small tractor and a riding mower, but I prefer to use the walk-behind 4HP mower because it cuts closer and I get a workout at the same time. My eyes are itchin' like crazy and I stirred up so much dirt and dust when I was raking that I swear I've been blowing doodlebugs out of my nose!.... Now THAT should be worth some extra points! LOL! ;-) Hugs, Janet

Guest guest
I sure hope you had an automatic rake !!!!!!!!!! That is a big peice of land to mow and rake.Good Luck on getting out of bed in the morning. Willie And what did you do today?Picture1 If the pix don't show up, you'll just have to take my word for it... After mowing today, I raked grass for 2 hours and 5 minutes. Last week, I raked up 6 huge piles.... today, I made 20 piles in the front pasture. Hubby gets to pick it all up and haul it to the compost pile tomorrow, he just doesn't know it yet. LOL! He's spending 2 days out at my parent's ranch bowhunting. I usually don't let the grass get as long as it did. We should've baled it this year. Still had some energy left over to walk 2 miles with Jackie this evening. If you don't hear from me tomorrow, it's because I can't get out of bed! hugs,Janet

Trust me, I don't plan on gettin' out of bed none to early! will be home, so she can feed the horses and muck the paddocks and barns. I would've been in bed a couple of hours ago, but and her friend , who will be spending the night here, are at a friend's birthday party in town. was going to drive them home around midnight, but since we live way out 20+ miles of dangerous twisty, windy country road I told them that if they leave 's jeep in town and let me pick them up and drive them home, they can stay at the party 'til 1 a.m. Sooooo, now here I sit, with another hour to go until I have to leave to go pick them up. Anything to keep those babies off the road tonight! I popped a couple of Excedrine about an hour ago and the caffeine in 'em has me wide awake. hugs, Janet
Guest guest
WOW, did you rake all of those by hand (with a rake) ? All by yourself? I never could have done that and then went for a walk too. You must be a wonder woman. Love ya Hamilton & Feeser wrote: If the pix don't show up, you'll just have to take my word for it... Hubby started to help me rake, but was VERY relieved when I let him off the hook after all of about 2 minutes and told him that I'd take care of it if he'd pick up the piles and haul 'em up to the compost pit the next day. I would've loved to have seen the look on his face after his overnight bowhunting trip, when he drove onto our property and saw the 20 piles of grass. I overheard him talking on the phone to one of his hunting buddies later that day.... he referred to them as "friggin' haystacks". LOL! I'm glad that I got it all finished before the rain that we got today. hugs, Janet
