I am short listed to be transfered to the UK by my company for a few

years. As part of my program to maintain Normal Sinus Rhythm I use

some suplements . Would someone please tell me if I can buy L-

carnatine ,Arginine, and Co-enzyme Q10 in the UK at a health food

store or phamacy .

If they are not available over the counter can I expect to be able to

get a family Doc to perscribe them. Am I able to pocess them (mailed

ot me ) or is that a violation of the control laws?

As a guest worker (Senior Engineer) would I be in the regular health

system ? If that is so, would that mean that I would have to go with

whatever Doctor I got signed up with?

Is there any tolerence for natural alternatives there, or is it

outlawed etc.

Thanks

Doesn't your company have information on health care available to you? If

not try your county health office, local hospital or the place where you apply

for passports.

Have a good time

Hi , as has said, most all of the things you refer to are

available over the counter. I get a lot of my supplements online and of course

these

can be sent from UK online stores or US online stores.

As for which Doctor you register with..I am afraid I cannot help with

information on that..I only know that if we move around in the UK, we sign up

with

a Doctor in the area we are visiting and the Doctors practice take you on as

a temporary resident.

Usually that means you can see anyone within that practice/clinic (generally

5 or more Doctors in a practice) As your stay is for several years you may

be able to sign on as a permanent resident..not sure about this though.

As far as tolerance for natural alternative (Medicine, foods etc)..Our

major supermarkets sell large ranges organic foods/wholefoods.

Our many health food stores sell everything alternative you could wish for.

A lot of Pharmacies (drug stores) sell alternative supplements and certainly

those to which you refer.

As in all the US, some are very pro alternative lifestyles/therapies and

meds etc and others prefer the pharaceutical routes, some combine the two, like

myself. I think we are a fairly relaxed country as far alternative anything

goes :)

Wherabouts are you coming to? :) I hope you enjoy your stay here!
