I am a landlord, hobbling and wobbling landlord. Last year I rented to a single black Mom. With me being blonde, blue-eyed and just plain different the following conversation took place two weeks after move- in with her darling 3 year old daughter. Sweet One: Hi Miss Eva. Miss Eva How come you don't talk white? Me: What did you say? Sweet One: How come you don't talk WHITE? My Mom says you don't talk WHITE. Me: I can talk WHITE! Sweet One: OK then talk WHITE for me! Me (after several moments of wondering what I got myself into): I want to be a princess and live in a big castle. Sweet One: That's WHITE alright. ++++++++++++ Of course, you can read a lot about society in this ...I simply thought it was niavely precious.
