Guest guest
I'm so happy for you! My son had that operation but did not wear the DBB afterwards. I wonder what the difference is. s. Tendon Transfer Surgery-NO MORE CAST!! My son Elliott had the ATTT surgery on both feet done on December 18th. I am very happy to report that yesterday the cast came of his feet. It was such a joy to be able to see his legs and feet. At this point, Elliott will have to wear DBB at night for a little while. We go back in two weeks for another follow up visit. But seeing my son with a smile on his face because he can finally touch his feet, words cant express the happiness.
Guest guest
Our daughter had the surgery in November and got her casts off in December just before Christmas, so we can relate to your joy- congratulations! She walks well now, but is still not up to normal speed. She is 4 and is not going back into the FAB. I wonder if the child's age plays a role in this. I would expect that your son is much younger- is he? - Tendon Transfer Surgery-NO MORE CAST!! My son Elliott had the ATTT surgery on both feet done on December 18th. Guest guest
Elliott is 2. I think it more of a precaution. When Elliott sleeps, he tucks his feet underneath him, it seems to add more pressure on his feet. He laid like this even in utero, we have a few sonogram pictures where he is like this. We are hoping to have his new DBB within two weeks. I have to say, it is very frustrating to have to wait so long for these shoes. Even more frustrating is that I live in New York, and Markell is located in Yonkers. Anyway, we take Elliott back on the 27th for a follow up. Right now, he still hasnt started to walk, we are a little concerned, but the doctor informs us that he will be up and walking in no time. It just a matter of Elliott having confidence in his balance. Regardless, it is very frustrating for us. We just want to see him walk and run, like he did before the surgery. Thanks to everyone for all the best wishes and concern. Guest guest
Hi Barry, I also think it's a matter of being confident/comfortable with walking again. It took Emma about 10 days to start walking but she was still unsteady for a while. Then one day she felt safe enough and made huge progress, literally overnight.
