I gave up coffee last year myself, for the sake of wasted calories. My

problem was I would always put a TON of cream in it! I didn't mind using

Equal instead of sugar, or even switching to decaf, but I could never bring

myself to enjoy my coffee without a ton of real cream! I would rather not

have it at all, LOL. I do treat myself every once in a while now, when I

have the calories to spare.

If you can make it through the first couple of days, it should be a

cakewalk, actually...mine was worst like the first day or so, and

then its okay. Didn't mean to scare you!

Hi ,

I've had to do the same thing, for heart palps (PVC's) and it's been two wks

now and I only had about two bad days!! Little headaches and such but NOT bad

at all.

Hope it goes ok for you,

Sue

I was Ms. Diet Coke. I used to drink NOOOOO water. YUCK! Then, all

of a sudden, one day I went out and bought one of those 1 gallon PUR

water dispensers. You full it up with 1 gallon of water, place it in

your fridge, and there is a dispenser you pull down to dispense the

water. I started drinking it, and stopped drinking the Diet Coke.

Ohhh, a day later, I had a killer headache. Couldn't figure out why.

Even pain killers wouldn't help. Then I realized....I didn't drink

any caffeine for a while.

What I ended up doing was drinking a very small glass of diet coke,

and the headache was gone. This was about 1 year ago, and I have

probably drank 24 cans since. I still allow myself it once and a

while, but not the 2-24 packs/week I was driking before. I dont' get

the headaches anymore. Now I drink about a gallon of water a day.

I guess moral of this loooong story is...if you are considering giving

up caffeine, if you can't stand the headaches, you can try drinking 1

small glass. Gradually lower your ammount. And you don't have to cut

it out completely. A treat here and there isn't going to make you

addicted again!

(who thinks ranting is contagious in this group...lol)
