Guest guest
Hi there. I have not read all the replies. Immuran can not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding to my knowledge. I had to use prednisone in my second pregnancy (before SCD).....and my daughter was healthy. Obviously that is not ideal. For me, pregnancy has improved my symptoms of UC each time. HTH Michele > > At the moment I am coming off prednisone (the only drug I am on for my UC). I have only been on strict SCD for 3 months. I am down to 2.5 mg of prednisone and feel myself starting to flare already. Any hints on coming off drugs? Don't want to go on any others because I badly want to have a baby.... Should I go back to intro diet at this critical time? ANY INFO ON UC DRUGS AND PREGNANCY? The next step would be Imuran I guess, because I can't take sulfasalazine or mesalazine due to their effects on my liver and kidneys, but they weren't working anyway... >

You seem to have LOL figured out though... ;-) > Maybe I need to go back to the intro. diet, maybe delete the banana? Again it can take many months before any noticible improvement occurs. Your diet looks reasonable as long as you're not cheating. You're not cheating now, are you? C'mon, you can tell us... ;-) Minor feedback: > - banana > - grape juice jelly > - well cooked pumpkin > - well cooked apple and pear You have a fair amount of sweet fruit here so keep it in check. > - well cooked spinach > - well cooked mushroom Limit the quantities to a few ounces a couple times a week. Ask about AJ's Famous Chicken Over Cauliflower recipe. ....actually I just gave it to you (almost). Cover a layer of cauliflower with a layer of chicken thighs in a baking dish of some sort, prep/spice as you see fit. Bake. Chomp. There are a number of DCCC recipes that many people like. I haven't tried any myself but you may want to search out a couple of those. -- Cheers, DF in MA UC June '07 SCD Nov '
