HI I hope everyone is well. Today is my fifth yr. since surgery since no one

in my family cares I thought that this family would like to know that I have

maintained my weight loss pretty darn good. Thankyou everyone for all the

posts that I read daily I have really learned some things from this list

that my surgeon does not know or he doesn't care to learn. I had a visit with

him last week and asked him about getting a bone scan done and he said you

can but what good would it do you, if you have problems then there is nothing

to be done about it. He knows how to do the surgery but other than that well

lets just say I am really disgusted. Please everyone keep the info coming.

Cheryl,

Congratulations on a BMI of 23.8 after 5 years. You are a success

and some one to be admired. Would you post those things that

you are doing which you feel have contributed significantly to your

success.

Good luck

Sue

My first thought when I read your post was how important it is for you to

remember who you lost the weight for and what it has done for YOUR life. It

shouldn't really matter what anyone else thinks - you made life better for YOU.

If you have managed tomaintain your weight for 5 yrs then give yourself a pat on

the back and take a trip down memory lane and remember what it was like being

heavy and then maybe it can help youput things back into perspective. As for

the doctor saying you didn't need a bone scan - he obviously doesn't believe in

preventive medicine and I would start hunting for a new doctor. He needs to

take care of you- he is your personal physician and he should be the one you can

trusy bout your health.

As for the family being complacent - think about the 5 yrs of freedom you have

enjoyed - freedom from the jail cell being fat builds around us and then thank

yourself for keeping it off. Find satisfaction in your spirit for a job well

done.

Sue, and everyone else, I am sorry for my post yesterday that sounded like a

pity party. I am very happy with what I have accomplished, and I do have my

familles support I guess I just wanted to whine, since my surgery I just do

not care about food like I did five yrs ago I couldn't wait to get my hands

on two whoppers with extra cheese now I cant remember when I last had a

hamburger. I eat very little now and have so much energy that I never sit

still for long. I just started doing protein sups so I will have to see if

they have any effect on me. I take the vits that have been recommend here but

I am in no means an example to follow I make mistakes, I have sugar everyday

in my coffee, I drink regular coke when I want a soft drink which is not very

often. I guess what I am trying to say is I just take it one day at a time if

I fail one day I start over again trying to do it right the next day.
