Guest guest
Does anyone have Dr. Rose Merola's phone number? I had it, and misplaced it. Thanks in advance. ~karyn
Guest guest
My suggestion is this, All persons grouped must be reserved by May1 any cancellations after that are charged for the WHOLE week 50% will go to LPA's Adoption or Scholarship Funds and 50% to The Hotel This tenie bopper BS of multiple folks in a room is a) against most zoning laws and shutting out folks who are serious. Next thing you know folks will be selling their rooms on Ebay... (not a bad idea) Also I think anyone who gave to the 50 for 50 this year should automatically get a room at the hotel I'm tired of this it's killing the family vacation plans Phone number dwarfism > The phone number for both hotels is the same as you must go through > the LPA Office to register for the convention $50 and one nights > stay at either hotel $104+tax. This 'teenie bopper BS' makes it possible for a lot of folks to go who otherwise might not be able to afford it, Tony. Deal with it. Guest guest
Wow, that's insightful and a terrific solution. That's exactly the contributions and thinking LPA needs to solve this problem. I made a suggestion good or bad but it was relevant. Yours was just silly. That's okay Howie, I'll Deal with it. Although this seems to be the wishes of a minority of members with fat wallets, I am glad this is not the case. In an organization where the population has so many medical bills, and needs it would be unfair and unjust to punish them for uncontrollable situations that may arise. We've all heard the stories and perhaps experiened the emergencies associated with our varying conditions. And for others, well made plans can go down the drain when you receive the call of responsiblity. >>>> This tenie bopper BS of multiple folks in a room is a) against most zoning laws and shutting out folks who are serious.<<<< While it may not be my cup of tea or yours to room in dormatory style situations, we can also afford to have a choice. The same may not be true for many who would like to partake in one of the few events available in a 12 month span. This event is their red carpet night as well as the opportunity to participate in in a week of information, comradarie and fun fun fun. You go Ian!! Soares forgets that 'respect is earned, not a given'. While we may not all appreciate due to not having the same joyful experience or remember the simple fun of being a 'teenie bopper', we should at least respect the sweetness of the time and not refer to their efforts to enjoy their lives as BS. >>>> Next thing you know folks will be selling their rooms on Ebay...<<< Isn't that how you get your room every year? At least in the last 2 years, previous to this, I have seen various postings from you willing to overpay in order to participate. I guess the new rules even made you book a room and admit you look forward to this event as much as the 'teenie boppers'. >>>> Also I think anyone who gave to the 50 for 50 this year should automatically get a room at the hotel <<<<< Yes, let's punish those who couldn't handle that hole in their budget and award a room to the elite. I'm glad you took out your checkbook and waved it around for us to see, AGAIN. I look forward to the annual event. Yes, that's the LPA I want to be a member of, NOT. >>> I'm tired of this it's killing the family vacation plans <<<< If your statement, with missing punctuation, indicates that you are tired of hearing " it's killing the family vacation plans " , then perhaps I may suggest you see it from another POV. I am so pleased to see so many families with children who have one of the varying types of dwarfism make such an effort to have the family participate in these events. Even to the point of sacrificing my room in order for them to have the opportunity to get to the information needed. These families need the exposure and in no way should an organization that claims to advocate and represent them also punish them. If that wasn't your intention, then perhaps complete sentences would help. Soares, it's always a pleasure reading your posts, nothing changes and always more of the same. PS. At least now you'll have something to post about on your list > > Phone number > dwarfism > > > The phone number for both hotels is the same as you must go through > > the LPA Office to register for the convention $50 and one nights > > stay at either hotel $104+tax. Guest guest
Hi Tony and all, After reading your post I understand what you are saying. > I resent when 4 individuals who plan to rent ONE > room Book 4 seperate rooms in advance. > > Making it harder for a needy family to get to > conference. I agree with you, as my previous post stated, a lot of groups room together every year so again, one person should be designated as the room bookie. In that respect when that does not happen, it does take away from others who need the room. I think though this can be turned into a positive situation by saying: " See how popular conferences are?! " For those of you who have yet to attend, all of this goes to show that conferences rock, it's a wonderful time so I just see this issue going to how great a job committees do! Happy St. 's Day! ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss an email again! Guest guest
Tony, where's your sense of humor? Just making a joke (albeit, at your expense). Stating your opinion is often the fuel to start a flame war. I've started a few myself by stating my opinion. Besides, it takes two to tango, and you were one of the dance partners. As far as an attack goes, I'd hardly call my response a personal attack. Unless you find cave-dwelling personally offensive. My apologies to you and all the bears on this list. Rose, place me on moderation! I'm evil!!!! Guest guest
Since nobody appears to know when something is private & something is public, I'm doing this publicly on the off chance that it will be seen & understood. --- Bill wrote: > Rose, place me on moderation! Actually, Tony, I have forced the responsibility of dealing with your posts onto my fellow administrators. I do not make any decision about your words. Period. The reason I do this is to remove any perception of bias. Yet somehow I continue to be the object of your wrath. I have mentioned this situation to you previously. Please heed this information. For the rest of the list, could we all please stop the habit of hitting the " reply to all " button on everything that shows up in your email box? This is the 2nd time within 2 days that people have responded to posts that did not appear on the list. When you do this all you are doing is continuing the flame war that you complain about. Thank you for your time. Rose Justice
