Guest guest
I am definitely missing messages, I didn't get the original of this. However, to answer your question, my 13 yr old says she never, ever wants to wear a vest again because that's what *children* wear and she's not a child anymore. Also, vests don't 'define and uplift' the bosoms, an apparently necessary requisite these days. Mind you, she's quite happy to wear a vest-top, which looks rather similar to a vest, to me, but she assures me it is *nothing* like a vest, completely different item of clothing etc. I guess when you're 13 or 14 you want to be like everyone else and being teased about vests is something you can do without. I cannot believe what bras do to breasts these days! Pump up two sizes, gel-filled, etc. It must be a great disappointment to the men out there when the woman undresses for the first time! - Sue

Exactly what I was going to say; anything which spells childhood is out of the window. Vests mean being a little girl. Bras mean being grown up. Guest guest
Oh I understand the peer pressure alright!! My mother got round it by making me wear both - bra and vest. I wasn't allowed out of the house without a vest on (she always checked)! I suppose I just got used to it and I don't remember being teased so much about it, although I'm sure I was. Now I can't live without one plus it keeps my tummy warm, which is where I always feel the cold!! And, in the winter, it makes me feel cold knowing others only have a tshirt/shirt on with nothing else underneath - brrrrr! I only shed mine on hot summer days. Things I do in life! Guest guest
Just had to come in here and let everyone know that I finally stopped all breastfeeding 3 weeks ago, went out and got re-measured after the last lump had gone - and I have gone down 2 cup sizes! Huh! That's a fine reward for 18 months of slavery! Oh, and Ruthie, I got told off in Rigby and Peller for wearing a soft, crop-top style bra 5 years ago - " Those are for little girls, you're a grown-up woman now " !!!! Anyone who can afford to even go into Rigby and Peller can affgord an extra 4 days in Sardinia!!! Have a wonderful time (v jealous!) I'll let you know about the ballet when I get back tomorrow!! Maybe next time! Beverly PS R & P do a bra (crossed over lace strings at the front) that is to die for, and hides a multitude of sins for us 'larger' ladies. I found an absolute spit (or copy!) of it by Fantasie (try www.doubled.co.uk - I joke not!) for a fraction of the R & P cost

And a better chance of a waistline that isn't the same size as your chest? (I'm having trouble getting my head (or is that stomach?) round the idea that DS2 not feeding at night means I need to eat even less) Must admit I was sort of thinking I'd got another 16-18 years minimum of slavery still to go! -- jennifer@... Guest guest
Hey, this was before I acquired a bigger house, a husband and a child - I could easily afford expensive lingerie AND holidays then! I was looking for the perfect strapless bra to go under my wedding dress. IIRC the bra she found for me was " only " about £35 (!) and not made by them. I have to say that the fitter was brilliant - she measured my ribcage, looked at me and said " hmm, yes, I think I know " and brought back a perfect fit. When I said that it undoubtedly fitted and met the main requirements but it wasn't very pretty she said " It's not supposed to be sexy, it's supposed to make you and the dress look good " . I didn't buy it as I wanted it to be pretty as well!!! But I never found another that fitted so well and made my posture so good! But as I've gone back to 36AA (haven't been AA for years!) I can presumably go back to crop tops too!
