really dumb question re colds and flu and normal people

If we on HC daily need to stress dose for colds and flu, what about

'normal' people not taking HC daily? Can a 'stress dose' help them get

over a cold?

I'm asking because my husband has caught another cold, and nothing seems

to be stopping or slowing it. Could I dose him with HC? If that's ok,

use same stress doses as I would use for myself?
