Holy Cow! What a jerk " perfect mom!!! " I think I would have been going

ballistic so I have to hand it to you for keeping your calm! In all the times

we've had Josh for hair cuts and he acts as if he's being tortured, we, thank

goodness, have never encountered anything like you did. Kudos to you for how

you handled it but, boy, that " perfect mom " sure needs lessons in respect! BTW,

where did you ever find a hair salon that has someone trained in sensory

issues??

Sherry, this woman is a saint. She, herself, has a child with SID. Just having

to cut her own daughter's hair, made her look into training for these types of

children.

This salon is really teriffic.....it's just for kids, and they really do

everything they can to make the kids happy and comfortable. The woman who does

Jordan's hair has really tolerated a lot from him, but always with a smile. Her

daughter is 14 now, so she's way over what Jordan is going through, but she said

how she remembers her not even wanting her hair washed or combed, let alone cut.

So she took a course in sensory integration to help her daughter, and of course

it just spilled over into her work.

Aside from being a wonderful hair cutter, she's a kind, patient and calm woman.

Jordan loves her, even though he really gives her a hard time.

Oh and as for " perfect mom " ......I cant' wait til I run into her in the food

store. I'm gonna nail her with some on the vine tomatoes, lol.......bet she's

got OCD, too, rofl........

My kids, Benny's parents, loved that story--and I thought Jordan had

the best comment of all! (I mean the one about mom, what's the matter

with that lady? does she need medicine?)

Peace,

Karyn, you crack me up! I just got back to the office from yet another funeral

(6 in the last two and a half months) and read your email - just laughed out

loud about " perfect mom. " You are sooooo lucky to have a stylist who

understands. We've not been as lucky but we have had some who are at least

patient - feel soo bad for them, though, with Josh's crying, hitting, hiding his

head in our arms, etc., etc. Hang on to her!!

You know, I thought long and hard about where he'd come up with a comment like

that. This morning, my two olders were fighting, I got so tired of the

screaming, and I said to them " did you take your medicine this morning? " (two

ADHD'ers, my son is the poster child for stimulant therapy) I then realized

what he was thinking!!!!
